Honda India Foundation (HIF), the CSR arm for all Honda group companies in India, today handed 101 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) to Mumbai Police, further strengthening its support for public-safety institutions through mobility-focused CSR efforts.

The deployment comprises 100 Honda CB350 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate, specially modified for police use. The vehicles will support police personnel in enhancing mobility across Mumbai’s high-footfall areas, strengthening patrolling and field response capabilities.

The flag-off ceremony was held in Worli, Mumbai, in the presence of Shri Mohd. Suvez Haque, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration), Mumbai; Shri Piyush Mittal, Vice President & Operating Head, General Affairs & Corporate Affairs, Honda Cars India Ltd.; Shri Rajeev Taneja, Operating Officer, Honda India Foundation; and senior representatives from Mumbai Police and Honda India Foundation.

The motorcycles have been equipped with dual-tone sirens and public-address systems, LED emergency lights, front police display boards, windscreens and storage boxes, among other modifications required for police operations. The Honda Elevate has also been customised for police use. These features are intended to support visibility, communication and operational efficiency during patrolling and field-level duties.

The deployment forms part of Honda India Foundation’s broader effort to support institutional mobility and public-safety systems through its CSR programme, “Sadak Sahayak – Surakshit Marg, Surakshit Jeevan.” With this initiative, Honda India Foundation has deployed a cumulative 613 motorcycles to strengthen police mobility and field operations across India.
