Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has formalized a strategic Progression Partnership with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), Scotland's national awarding and qualifications body, marking a significant step towards advancing the internationalization of Indian higher education and skills development in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The partnership aims to create globally aligned, skill-integrated learning pathways that enable Indian and international learners to pursue work-integrated, credit-bearing programmes in India, with clear progression routes to universities and employment opportunities worldwide. The collaboration directly supports NEP 2020's focus on integrating vocational education with higher education, strengthening national credit frameworks, and building high-quality global linkages.

A four-member SQA delegation - Ms. Margaret Curran, International Regional Manager (South Asia), along with Mr. Mark Hill, Ms. Alyson Burns, and Mr. George Kolath - attended the signing ceremony. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, Retd. IAS, former Chairman, NCVET, and one of the key architects of India's credit-based frameworks (NCrF/NSQF). Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kalsi highlighted the importance of globally benchmarked collaborations in enabling seamless credit mobility, recognition, and lifelong learning for Indian youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder & Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, said, "This partnership is a significant step in creating globally aligned academic and career pathways for Indian learners. By enabling international recognition of qualifications and smoother progression opportunities, it strengthens India's work-integrated education ecosystem while supporting the broader vision of global mobility and lifelong learning."

Under the agreement, MSU will offer work-integrated, credit-mapped programmes aligned with SQA's international standards. Eligible learners will have the opportunity to earn SQA qualifications alongside MSU degrees, creating flexible and cost-effective pathways for progression to top-up and higher degrees overseas. The collaboration will focus on high-demand sectors to ensure strong employability outcomes and industry relevance.

Ms. Margaret Curran from SQA stated, "Through this partnership with Medhavi Skills University, SQA aims to make globally benchmarked qualifications more accessible to Indian learners. By aligning our frameworks, we are enabling structured progression pathways that support academic mobility and open up wider international opportunities."

Learners from across India, as well as regions including South Asia, the GCC, Africa and ASEAN, are expected to benefit from internationally recognized credits, dual certification, and the option to complete a significant part of their education in India before progressing abroad. By bringing SQA's robust quality assurance systems and extensive international articulation network closer to Indian learners, the partnership seeks to enhance global confidence in Indian qualifications and expand academic and career mobility.

Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, remarked, "By combining SQA's internationally recognized qualification frameworks with MSU's industry-integrated learning approach, we are creating clear, affordable, and globally aligned progression pathways that enhance learner mobility, strengthen employability, and support India's evolving skills ecosystem under the National Education Policy."

The MSU-SQA partnership marks an important milestone in India's evolving higher education and skills landscape, laying the foundation for future-ready graduates who are globally mobile and industry aligned.
