Dadi Dada Foundation, an organisation that emerged as a torchbearer for the welfare of senior citizens organised its first event ‘Let’s Plan Second Innings’ on 3rd March 2020 at the Constitutional Club, New Delhi. The organisation is committed to support the senior citizens of the country by providing them a conducive environment to lead healthy, dignified and independent life post retirement. The event was organised in association with YUVA Academic Partner, Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Rise always welfare society (RAWS) . This event was sponsored by SAIL, GAIL, RINL, NSIC and Jindal power.



The event provided an insight on Legal Awareness, Financial Planning and Health Management. Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State in Ministry of Steel was the Chief Guest who focused on the importance of grandparents in the family. He said, “Dadi and Dada are the integral part of the family who must not be separated. They spread love and happiness; they are the pillar of support for the family”. Kulaste, who is also a Minister of state for Steel, said the government is mindful of the concerns of senior citizens and divyang, adding that it is running pension schemes not only for those who retire from government service but also for those in private business.



Smt. Rita Bahuguna (MP, Lok Sabha), Dr. Ashwani Mahajan (National Co- convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch),Smt Ghazala Meenai (former joint secretary, MSJE, GOI), Dr. Sanjay Mayukh MLC, BJP,Jayram Viplay, President YUVA trust, Dr. Anshuman, Sarvesh Tiwari (Advocate, High Court & Founding Trustee of Dadi Dada Organisation) Sarvesh Tiwari (communication expert) to name a few were the special guests who talked about the existing policies for the senior citizens and their importance in the family.



With deep reverence and admiration towards the senior citizens, the Founding Director of the organisation, Muni Shankar Pandey said, ‘Dadi Dada Foundation will offer selfless services along with free legal aid assistance to the senior citizens across the country. Dr. Rita Joshi, 70, who represents the Allahabad constituency in Lok Sabha, said, "There are a lot of opportunities even after retirement. There are re-employment opportunities up to the age of 70 in fields like teaching, administrative services."She said senior citizens must also know their rights and never hesitate in exercising them. Jayram Vipaly said people can take the example of great philosopher Chankya and Bharat ratna NANA ji deshmukh one from ancient India and another from modern India who had contributed to their second life for society and nation.



Dr. Sanjay said this time to back to our roots. The help of internet and offices of their elected representatives to know more about the schemes and services meant for them and added that there is a need to create awareness about this in the society. Kanpur Parliamentarian Pachauri, 72, said the government is running numerous schemes for senior citizens in the fields of health and people must avail them. It is very necessary for the general public and elected representatives to create awareness about the schemes meant for them, he said.
