After getting a long list of complaints about online food delivery services, FSSAI asks Online food delivery platforms to remove the unregistered eateries as they are providing the substandard food. Online food delivery service operators have been told to ensure that the food they pick up and delivered to their clients is duly licensed by the government.



At the beginning of this year in February FSSAI came up with specific rules and regulation which has to be followed by the online food delivery network.They were also required to have an agreement with their listed partners to comply with the FSS Act, Rules and Regulations. But, due to their inconvenient action against this, a legal notice is provided to them. Well known online food delivery services such as Swiggy, Zomato, Box8, Foodpanda, Food cloud, Lime tray, JusFood, Foodmongo etc are informed to remove the unregistered eateries.



Every food business need to submit the complete documentation including their FSSAI License, the copy of the agreement they have signed with the FBOs and the system they have created to do internal checks on the compliance issues.



FSSAI has specified that several complaints have arrived with the concern that the online food service companies are providing their services for restaurants and hotels who do not hold any food license. Therefore FSSAI needs to take a strict action against it, as it is mandatory in India to hold a food license before initiating any food business whether it is a small hawker or any big food business provider firm.

A major concern has arrived for these brands, As well as FSSAI has made it mandatory for the firms to react on the same by the end of July 2018.
