Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology conducted its 7th Annual Athletic Meet with great zeal, excitement and fervor on 10th March 2018. Almost 650 students and faculty members participated in various activities. All the students especially the participants were really excited about the event.



The opening ceremony began with the march past by all the departments of the college. The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.



The Chief Guest Dr.Avtar Singh, Head of Department &OrthopedicSurgeon Amandeep Hospital Amritsar, Chairman of ACET,Adv. Amit Sharma,Director Finance, Mrs. Ragini Sharma Principal, Dr. V. K. Banga, Deansand Heads of various Departments graced the occasion with their presence. The Chief Guest in his key note addressed the students about the importance of sports. He lauded the energyzest and vitality of students. He opined that the sports isvery important part of education because its makes students disciplined. He urged the students to participate in the sports with sincerity as it keeps them physically and mentally fit.



All the dignitaries applauded the wide array of activities performed by students and faculty members. The different categories of the athletic meet were 100mt, 200mt, 400mt race, Long Jump and many more. The Best Athlete (Male) was awarded to Jasdeep Singh from Mechanical Engineering Department & Best Athlete (Female) was awarded to Baljeet Kaur from Information Technology Department. The Overall trophy was awarded to Department of Information Technology.

Principal Dr. V. K. Banga gave away the prizes to the winners & DSA, Dr.Maninder Singh Gill presented the vote of thanks in closing ceremony. Athletic Meet ended with the National Anthem.
