Noida, June 21, 2023 – On the auspicious occasion of the 9th International Day of Yoga, AAFT (Asian Academy of Film and Television) extended its warmest congratulations to everyone. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, in his welcome address, shared that AAFT has been at the forefront of celebrating this day for the past 30 years. The institution established the Prithvi Yoga Centre in 1993, choosing the 21st of June as Yoga Day, and has been commemorating this event ever since.

To promote the practice of yoga, AAFT’s Marwah Films and Video Production wing produced a 13-episode serial on Yoga back in 1993, which was broadcasted on Doordarshan and garnered immense viewership. Over the years, AAFT has continued its mission of spreading awareness about yoga through workshops, seminars, and interaction programs. Remarkably, more than 15,000 students from over 100 countries have received yoga training from AAFT in the last three decades.

Radio Noida 107.4FM, Radio Mumbai, Radio Raipur, and MSTV have been consistent platforms for showcasing yoga programs. Inspired by the impact and response, AAFT established the School of Health and Wellness, which further contributes to the promotion of yoga and holistic well-being.

In collaboration with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment, AAFT School of Health and Wellness organized a vibrant and energetic program to commemorate the International Day of Yoga. The event witnessed a captivating yoga-based dance recital and a presentation of yoga exercises, which enthralled the large audience in attendance. Additionally, the program’s highlight was a mesmerizing fashion show centered around Buddhism and meditation, presented by the students of AAFT School of Fashion and Design.

The event attracted a diverse audience from various walks of life, creating a harmonious atmosphere of unity and well-being. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, on behalf of AAFT, presented participation certificates from the Prithvi Yoga Centre to all the esteemed guests, including Emile Mwepesi of the Rwanda High Commission as the guest of honor, Antje Stiebitz, a Radio Journalist from Germany, Dr. Sampoorna, a Yoga Master, Ambica Mittal, a Yoga Expert, and spiritual leaders Swami Chander Dev Ji, Dr. Gopal Ji, Acharya Satyander Ji, and Swami Vishwa Anand. Each guest graciously shared their personal experiences and insights on the transformative power of yoga.

The 9th International Day of Yoga celebration at AAFT served as a powerful testament to the institution’s commitment to promoting the practice of yoga and fostering a healthier and more balanced society. The event left a lasting impression on all those in attendance, inspiring them to embrace yoga as a means to achieve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
