IIT Roorkee hosted the silver jubilee reunion of Batch of 1994 from 15-17th November 2019. The reunion was attended by about 200 alumni from across the world. The silver jubilee reunion is an opportunity for alumni to gather and celebrate on the campus their 25 years of graduation.

On the day of the reunion, alumni of 1994 batch presented a cheque of Rs. 1.42 crore to the Director of IIT Roorkee Prof A K Chaturvedi and Dean of Resources & Alumni Affairs Prof B R Gurjar as a token of their love and affection to the alma mater. The cheque was presented by the Coordination Committee of the class of 1994.

The batch plans to work with the Institute for effective deployment of funds in meaningful projects that may be in the areas of socio-economic initiatives and increasing the brand value of the Institute and its initiatives.

Apart from a batch-donation to the institution, the alumni also felicitated the support staff, the unsung heroes who were instrumental in making the 4 years of college time a pleasant experience. Hence the batch thought to use the occasion as a way to give sincere thanks to them.

On this occasion, the Director, IIT Roorkee Prof Ajit K. Chaturvedi said “It’s a pleasure to have 1994 batch alumni join us today. They have been doing very well and excelling in their respective fields which makes us proud as teachers and as an institution as a whole. We are also humbled by the donations we have been receiving from our alumni. They are truly giving back to their institution not only in terms of donations but also through associating with us in terms of collaborative projects, capacity building programs, etc.”
