To formally observe the official day when Hindi was adopted as the national language of India 70 years ago, Amity Global School, one of the top International Schools in Gurgaon organised a special assembly on 13th September 2019. The event celebrated the significance of Hindi as a general medium of communication and expression across India. 



Students from all sections – kindergarten (KG), primary and senior – actively participated to commemorate the day and showcased their talent through a variety of themed presentations. Grade 5 scholars of this best IGCSE Board school in Gurgaon collected information on the origin of Hindi Divas and transformed the content into a interesting skit titled ‘Desh Ki Pehchann – Hindi’.



The students from Grades 3 and 4 presented a Nukkad Natak demonstrating the evils of bullying. They also had another important subject – creating on awareness on the proper usage of water, a depleting natural resource of the world. The tiny tots from Lower KG, Upper KG and Grades 1 and 2 recited some poems in Hindi. The audience responded enthusiastically to all the programmes. 



Presentations by the senior classes were also appreciated by one and all. The students of Grades 6 to 8 delved into Civics books to research on the fundamental duties of Indian citizens and presented their comprehension of same through a skit – ‘Hamare Maulik Kartavye’. In addition to these, the students of LS3 recited a poem on achievements of India and those of IG 1 presented a skit called ‘Reed ki Haddi’ authored by renowned Hindi writer Jagdish Chandra Mathur. The performances upheld Amity’s image as one of the Best IB Schools in Gurgaon. 



At the end of the ceremony the school Principal Mrs. Aarti Gupta shared her views on significance of Hindi and how people can progress internationally by also respecting the languages and cultures of other countries. 



On the whole it was an entertaining and enlightening celebration that will go down as a memorable event of the academic session 2019-2020.
