To observe 2nd October – the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Amity Global School organised a special assembly where the students highlighted the teachings and ideologies conveyed by two of the most distinguished political leaders of India. 2nd October being a public holiday, the day was observed on 28th September at the school premises.

There was active participation by all the wings – KG, primary and senior – through various activities including songs and street plays.

This special assembly also emphasized upon the philosophy of BHAAG that has been envisaged by the school’s Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan and Chairperson Dr. Amita Chauhan. BHAAG is an acronym for Behaviour, Hard Work, Attitude, Ambition, and (faith in) God.

The students, staff and management realised that the values emphasized upon in BHAAG are in harmony with the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Its precepts when followed diligently can help an individual in all spheres of life. The young scholars at Amity Global pledged to abide by these in their pursuit of knowledge and success.

In her speech at the end of the assembly Principal Mrs. Jayashree Kad elaborated on how students can adopt the 5 tenets of BHAAG to see where they stand in their life. A positive attitude is significant to keep up with personal and professional ambitions in life. This must also be backed by the right behaviour and the zeal to work hard. On the other hand when a person gets affected by negativities, he or she feels disoriented and may lose track of the right path to success. Mrs. Kad explained that such a person also tends to lose faith in God. The students were therefore encouraged to follow all the values of BHAAG as a natural rhythm of life.

The efforts of all the organisers who made the assembly a success were appreciated by the management.
