Representatives of government-owned oil companies donating Rs. 15 crore towards flood relief fund in Patna on Tuesday.

A delegation of government oil companies on Tuesday met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence and handed over a check of Rs. 15 crore towards the flood relief fund.



The delegation was comprised of a host of government-owned oil companies including Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Gas India Limited (GAIL), Oil India Limited (OIL), and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).



Led by IOCL Chairperson Sanjiv Singh, GAIL General Manager Pawan Sharma, and IOCL Barauni Executive Director V K Shukla, the delegation met with Kumar who thanked them for their generosity saying the money would go far in providing relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims in Bihar that has taken over 500 lives so far while destroying crop and properties to the tune of several thousand crore rupees.



Others who also contributed towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund on Tuesday included Building Construction Minister Maheshwar Hazari (Rs. 1.5 lakh), Janata Dal – U legislator Ghulam Rasool Baliyavi (Rs. 1.01 lakh), and former legislator Ashok Kumar (Rs. 51,000).
