Over 15,000 runners are all set to run the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon 2018 on Sunday, February 25, 2018. The AIMS certified marathon will be flagged-off from the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium by none other than the cricketing legend and Face of the event, Sachin Tendulkar.

The IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon is the National Marathon Championship, as recognized by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).The marathon will witness a stellar line-up of top Indian marathoners like Kheta Ram, Gopi T, Jitendra Singh Rawat, Monika Athare and Jyoti Singh Gawate. The IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon is also an ‘Inclusive run’, led by Indian Blade runner Major D. P. Singh, the event shall witness 25 wheelchair participants and para-athletes.



Registered participants will be collecting their Race Kits at the Expo which will be held on 23rd and 24th February 2018 at Gate No.1 of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The winners of the 3rd edition of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon will be awarded prize money of Rs. 8 Lakhs across various categories.



Giving back to the community is what runners taking part in the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon will be supporting through the NGO partner – Diksha Foundation. Diksha is a non-profit school in Palam Vihar, Gurgaon and Haryana, India, established to provide free and quality education to children from low-income families in the neighbourhood. Around 50 kids from Diksha Foundation will be running the 5K Swacch Bharat Run.



With an aim to promote ‘zero food wastage’ the marathon has also associated with Robin Hood Army, a volunteer based organisation that works to get surplus food from restaurants to the less fortunate. The organisers have also teamed up with 'Delhi Commission for Women' who will be running to spread the message of 'Strict punishment for child rapists'.
