Aspirants seeking a good ranking in the JEE Main, have a second chance for a progressive perfection. With NTA’s decision to conduct the JEE Main exams twice a year from 2019, many aspirants are at an added advantage.

For those who missed out on the first attempt or want to improve their ranking to qualify for JEE Advanced, here is a better chance to revise their preparations. Attempting the first Main exam, should be considered as a mock test which is helpful in understanding the weak areas for detailed analysis and further preparations.

“For improving their scores and obtain better ranks in the second session of JEE Main 2019, students are advised to solve atleast 50-60 numerical per day in each subject i.e. Physics, chemistry and mathematics. Though good number of problem solving is essential but having it done with the concept clarity accelerates success as the exam may not have a fixed pattern. Though it is good to solve questions, but focus more on making the concepts transparent. Cracking JEE requires a great strength and hold in analytical skills with a great emphasis on critical thinking. It is thus imperative to understand the application of the concept as well.” Said Mr. Ramesh Batlish, expert, FIITJEE

The Common Rank List for JEE Main 2019 will be available in the first week of May after the declaration of the results of the April exam. The better of the scores of candidates who have appeared in both JEE Main January and April will be considered for the ranking purposes while the scores of the candidates who have appeared for just one exam will be used as it is. The common rank lists will denote the All India and Category ranks of the candidates in addition to the details of the candidates and marks obtained. The JEE Main being closely scheduled, preparations for both these needs to be planned meticulously. However, the challenge remains about how to focus and go about it to emerge victorious in both the exams. There are certain sub-topics in various subjects which generally get more weightage in the Boards because the questions are subjective type. There are also some topics which are part of JEE Main but not part of the JEE Advanced exam which some students tend to ignore during their preparation.” He added

The first phase of the JEE Main 2019 recently concluded on 12th Jan and the students who are not sure of getting a better rank also has a second chance in April (6th April-20th April). Registration for the April session will be starting from 8th Feb till 7th March 19.

Aspirants are however advised to give in the best shot as it is finally the relative performance in the actual exam that will fetch you a good rank in JEE 2019.
