Vijay Goel - Hon'ble Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation will inaugurate the Pan IIT Conclave 2019. The conclave is being organized by PAN IIT alumni India and will bring together leaders in academics and research, business and industry, and policy-makers. These opinion leaders and experts will explore, analyze and discuss on Artificial Intelligence (AI), its growth and related policies directed at making India a powerhouse of AI in the world.



The conclave is scheduled on January 19 & 20, 2019 and will be held at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The programme sessions include topics such as AI for Social Good, Future of Work, Ethics Privacy and Security, Governance of AI, and Start-ups & AI, while industry focus sessions will take up application of AI in Education and Affordable Learning, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Finance and Healthcare.



PanIIT Conclave 2019 will examine opportunities for India to play the role of a global leader in the 4th Industrial Revolution led by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The event will act as a platform for questions related to - Where does India stand in the AI world right now? What do we need to do to make sure that in the future Indians can get the maximum benefit from AI with minimum risk? Where lie the opportunities and where the pitfalls?



Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) has signed up as Title Sponsor of the TCS-PanIIT Conclave 2019.



Ananth Krishnan, CTO at Tata Consultancy Services, K. Vijayaraghavan, Principal Scientific Advisor to Prime Minister, Kevin Desouza, Professor at QUT Business School, Isaac Ben-Israel, Professor, Chairman at Israel Space Agency and more are esteemed speakers at the two-day event.



Significant PanIIT initiatives will be launched at the conclave.



1. PanIIT AI Hackathon 2019



The first PanIIT AI Hackathon 2019 aims to promote AI and ML among the wider community of young software and AI professionals and showcase the talent among them. The Hackathon will be held annually. In keeping with the theme of the conclave, the Hackathon will focus on AI and how the technology can be used to solve problems important to India. The teams will be given problems which will have direct impact on the society, and present their solutions to the audience at the Conclave.



The solutions will be judged by a jury, and winning teams will be awarded prizes at the valedictory session of the Conclave.

2. PanIIT AI Forum



The PanIIT AI Forum is a platform to promote efficient communication and the free exchange of views and ideas among persons involved in AI, ML and allied technologies, whether they are researchers and academics, engineers, business and finance persons, policy makers, media persons, social scientists, etc. The activities of the Forum will aim to enhance communication and contact among AI professionals in diverse fields to germinate ideas and business opportunities.



3. The conclave will also have an exhibition area which will provide an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to interact directly with the delegates, comprising of eminent IIT alumni, policy makers and heads of large companies.

About Pan IIT Alumni India (PIAI)
