Cuttack: These brave hearts, Cyclists after conquering the mighty Himalayas in 2014, a Bhubaneswar-Bhutan mission in 2015 and an international expedition of Vietnam-Cambodia in 2016, have set a new target this year.

Eight members of the Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) on Thursday kick-started their journey for another international adventure of covering a stretch of 1,450 km from Cuttack to Kathmandu (Nepal).

They would complete the mission in just 12 days with a message of “Friendship & Peace” on their bicycles.

The BCAC team comprises senior IPS officer IGP SAP, Sanjeeb Kumar Panda, entrepreneur Ajay Kumar Nanda, Professor Gopal Krushna Sahoo, entrepreneur Akshyapadma Mohapatra, Professor Kumar Devdutt, businessman Manoj Kumar Prusty, freelance writer Santosh Kumar Rout and Government Railway Police official Amit Kumar Paikray.

The distance to cover includes 350 km of toughest hilly terrain. This tour is coined as “Kataka to Kathmandu” to lend it a rhythmic appeal.

The cyclists started at 7 am from the Kalinga Stadium. They proceeded to Cuttack by their cycles and formally started the journey from the Barabati Fort there at about 9 am.
